Feliz Navida! Merry Christmas! You could be a gift to a church that is experiencing growth pains. The Church in South America is going through a revival and they cannot keep up with the growth, so they are asking for help! Join the team going to help complete construction on an expanding ministry in Escobar, Argentina. Following training at, 'The Lord's Boot Camp,' your team will catch a flight that will take you over the majestic Andes Mountains, landing at Ezeisa International Airport in Buenos Aires (Spanish for "good air" or more like "fair winds"). You will then travel around one and a half hours to reach Camp CE-NA-MI, a retreat centre run by the Open Bible Churches. Housing will be in dorms with showers available. Laundry will be done using buckets. It will not be hard to make friends with this warm-hearted and family-orientated nation as they adopt you as their new 'hijos' (sons) and 'hijas' (daughters). You may want to brush up on your Spanish, if you know any, as you will also share your faith using puppets, music and drama. Escobar sits amidst slopes alternated with bogs and hillocks in wetlands along the Parana River and is a great place to go fishing should the opportunity arise. Or, see if you can fish in the mighty Rio de le Plate. If you would like to experience the culture, take a train to downtown Buenos Aires. The national foods are delicious, especially the famous Argentinean BBQ and world famous steaks, claimed to be the best in the world! Souvenirs available include leather jackets, wooden goods, precious stones and articles made form wool. |
