Dates of Involvement: 26 December 2020 – 24 January 2021
Spread the Good News this summer by island-hopping in the Philippines! Put into practice the urgency of reaching the nations as you ‘hop’ by boat from island to island, bringing a message of hope, love and grace. When you’re not on the water or sharing presentations with puppets, drama, music, Gospel teaching and testimonies, you’re busy with many projects on Bohol, including finishing a pastor’s house and building a sea wall to protect this island community from rising sea levels. You will learn endless practical evangelism and construction skills throughout your summer. Your time of training begins at Boot Camp in Tewantin, Queensland, and will continue throughout your time in the field on the island of Bohol, Philippines. Your summer will conclude at Debrief, back in Australia, before you return home. Be urgent in your training, travel and teaching of the Gospel this summer!
Special Note: All team members must be 15 years old or older at the commencement of the summer program to participate on this team.
Potential sightseeing: With beautiful beaches, and exciting caves, Bohol is known for its coral reefs and unusual geological formations – spectacular sights are in store for you! See the 1,200 Chocolate Hills turn an astounding cocoa-brown in the dry season, contrasting with the surrounding jungle’s greenery. Test your bartering skills at a local market where you can purchase wood carvings, handmade jewelry, clothing and other unique souvenirs.
