Rough, rugged, adventure, excitement, challenges and ministry await you on this team as you experience one of the most remote and needy areas of the world. Come to Papua New Guinea and be amongst the selected few who have lived an experience of a lifetime! You will be working side by side with the Pori community as you help them to complete a 700 metre long airstrip which will allow them to have accessability. You will also be working on the local school. The airstrip will serve as a lifeline to the community, schools, health centres and churches by providing aid, material and supplies. The airstrip is located near Lake Tuku. The Pori people speak the Hela Yuna Tribal language and are a very committed and peace-loving Christian-minded people. After Boot Camp, you will fly from Brisbane International Airport to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, where you will overnight then fly on to Tari, before taking a rugged truck ride to Pori. You will enjoy sharing the love of Christ with the local people through your presentations using music, puppets and testimonies. There will be time to shop for souvenirs including a colourful bilium bag, traditional jewellery, hand-carved wooden items, highland grown coffee, just to name a few of the choices. This huge equatorial island provides a smorgasbord of wonderful things to see and do. The rich wealth of flora and fauna will thrill the nature lover. The strong and vibrant culture, which dominates everyday life in Papua New Guinea, will challenge you. Housing will be in tents and laundry will be done in buckets.
