Sewing team-Wangibasha Unit

The gift of education is something we in the Western World often take for granted, but to people in Zambia it is hope of a better future and a way out of poverty.  Attendance at school in Zambia is not a right but a privilege. Without a school uniform, children usually are not allowed to attend. For several years now, Teen Missions has been sending teams to Zambia to sew school uniforms for the children.  This simple gift allows a child to attend school and often provides them with a second set of clothing. We would like to send a team to our newest Australian sponsored Unit, Wangibasha. Since Mibende our first Australian Unit and the road to Wangibasha are now completed, we will be sending a team to sew uniforms for the orphans! Wangibasha is a remote area out in the bush. The team will set up camp in tents and will be sewing under an outside pavilion, using a generator. You will have the opportunity to meet many of the children for whom you will be sewing uniforms. All washing will be done in buckets, with water fetched from the nearby well. This team is tough but definitely worthwhile because you will be bringing hope to many young lives.
