Solomon Islands

Dates of Involvement: 26 December 2020 – 24 January 2021

Get practical this summer, and work hard to develop a local church where village children can receive their schooling. Encourage the community by valuing the opportunity their children have for education and working to improve their learning environment. Share your passion and your faith with this beautiful island community, and take every opportunity to minister to children through music, puppets, drama, Gospel teaching and testimony. Practical training in evangelism, construction and cross-cultural missions is just the beginning of what you will learn this summer. See God working in the ‘every day’ as you live in this island community. Your time of training begins at Boot Camp in Tewantin, Queensland, and will continue throughout your time in the field on the island of Honiara, Solomon Islands. Your summer will conclude at Debrief, back in Australia, before you return home. Be changed and change the world this summer!

Potential sightseeing: Enjoy spectacular white-sanded island beaches and snorkel in the coral waters – or appreciate the historic sites from WWII at Red Beach or Bloody Ridge. Sample local produce and try your hand at bartering in the local markets for crafts, dresses and other souvenirs, to remember and share the island culture you have experienced.

Team Cost: AU$2,391 / NZ$2,496
