South Africa

Dates of Involvement: 26 December 2020 – 24 January 2021

Change lives in South Africa this summer by sewing uniforms for AIDS orphans and street children, and sowing fields and developing irrigation for the provision of food for missionary families and Bible College students. Throughout the summer you will have opportunities to spread the Gospel, encourage fellow missionaries in the field and train in a variety of practical skills for agriculture, needlecraft, construction and evangelism. Be bold and learn something new this summer! See God use your willingness to learn and eagerness to make a difference in this world. Your time of training begins at Boot Camp in Tewantin, Queensland, and will continue throughout your time in the field in Pyramid, South Africa. Your summer will conclude at Debrief, back in Australia, before you return home. The simple provision of clothes and food will impact this community for eternity: so… will you go?

Potential Sightseeing: Handcrafted items in the market such as wooden carvings, beadwork on clothing, handbags, jewelry, batiks, colorful tablecloths and handmade musical instruments are like no other. While you are here, you may even enjoy having your hair braided, ladies! Learn more about South Africa’s history at the foot of Nelson Mandela’s statue (where evangelism in the park could also keep you busy!) You may also have an opportunity to see some of South Africa’s intriguing wildlife.
