Where will I be going?

This summer you’re heading to Mae Hong Son, Thailand.

Nestled in the north-west of Thailand, Mae Hong Son is a remote, mountainous province on the border of Myanmar, scattered with ethnically diverse hill tribes throughout.

Tucked away in this stunning province, you will find your host: House of Hope. House of Hope is home to over 20 orphaned and homeless Shan children. Established in 1999, this home provides a refuge for these children, educating and nurturing them, providing them with a family that many of them have never known.

What will I be doing?

There are endless needs for practical support in this children’s home. After your time of training at Boot Camp in Tewantin, QLD, your summer at House of Hope is perfect timing to help with planting. Farming their own land and pastures with rice, vegetables and garlic helps House of Hope to supplement food resources for feeding everyone in the dining hall each day. See how these children are trained in hospitality, agriculture and taking care of livestock to equip them for their future.

You will share testimonies, dramas and teach from the Bible in churches and during evening devotions with the children at House of Hope. Christmas is the only time in Thailand you can hold open-air meetings and preach openly about Jesus in the surrounding villages and towns: an exciting opportunity not to be missed! Teaching English at House of Hope and in local schools will open doors to minister to children from all over the region.

Don’t just be challenged; be changed and change the world this summer, starting right here.
